Lantern - NaPoWriMo

I had been traveling these few days and so didn't post anything but now I will be sharing poems to cover up for the backlog. Do keep reading and giving your feedback, friends. Its much valued. 
On day 5, I wrote a poem on the word 'lantern'.

Dark, ominous night stretches on
Along a sandy beach he crawls
Clueless, rudderless
Waits for a rejuvenating morn.

For survival, it's been a perilous fight
Without any hope, any respite
Enveloped by perpetual gloom
He braces for eventual doom.

Escapes his lips a bitter sigh
A sudden streak lights up the gloomy sky
Floats along a vibrant, golden lantern
Sweeping away shadows of despair and desolation.
