चुनावी शतरंज

बिछ चुकी है शतरंज की बिसात, अग्रिम चालें हैं तैयार।

रणभेरी बज रही है, कूच कर रहे हैं प्यादे रणभूमि की ओर।
उत्साह से ओत-प्रोत टिक टिक करते इंटरनेट योद्धा-
मूढ़ बुद्धि, अनजान हैं कि असली खेल चल रहा कहीं और।
राजा, मंत्री, रानी, राजकुमार सभी कर रहे निरंतर प्रहार।
चुनावी द्वन्द में किसकी होगी शह और किसकी होगी मात,
जानने के लिए करना होगा अगले वर्ष तक का इंतज़ार।

CHECK AND MATE

The game was set, the plans laid well.
One mighty stroke, the pawns fell.
The Kings connived, the ministers acquiesced.
Another evil swoop, the queens were swapped.
Mission accomplished...Check. ✓
The game was saved. Check. ✓
But now there was no loving mate.
